DX Dispatch

Air travel provides the primary connection for the flow of people, goods and information between northern communities. Radiating out from central hubs such as Yellowknife and Iqualuit, these networks are critical to the social and economic wellbeing of surrounding communities. Based on collected data, this installation represents the complex network that emerges by mapping the flight paths from these central nodes to the most remote communities. Fibres suspended from the ceiling present a canvas for a dynamic projected light display evoking the ethereal beauty of the aurora borealis.
